UKM Dental Coating Ceremony 2014/2015
Assalamualaikum and hi everyone.
Dental Coating Ceremony has been held on 27th of October 2014
in UKM Faculty of Dentistry.
Coating ceremony is an annual ritual in UKM faculty of denstistry
that marks the 3rd year students' transition
from study of preclinical to clinical practice.
This ceremony adress the issue of dental ethics and
praise rising students for their success in completing
the basic coursework of dentistry.
We also read the Hippocratic Oath on that special day.
The ceremony was started and launched by our respected dean,
Y.Bhg. Prof. Dato' Dr. Ghazali Mat Nor.
The speech given was very meaningful.
We also received news that our dean will retire this coming January.
We're so sad that he will leave us but we pray for the best to our beloved dean.
Thank you so much to all the doctors
who were willing to spend their free time to join us.
We really appreciate it.
There were also some energetic and cheerful
performances from 1st year students.
It was really a memorable and unforgetable moment
when the dean and vice dean themselves put on the
white coat to 3rd year students.
Hopefully it injected a whole new spirit to the students
to really work hard and be the best dentists.
All the 3rd year students read the hippocratic oath.
It is an oath historically taken by physicians and physician assistants.
It is one of the most widely known of Greek medical texts.
It requires a new physician to swear,
upon a number of healing gods,
to uphold specific ethical standards.
The dean proudly gave the certificate to
all the dean's list students. Congratulations!
Before the ceremony ends,
There were several lucky draws given to the lucky students.
Congratulations to all 3rd year students!
