39th APDSA CONGRESS ::DAY 1::

Seeing as registration was as early as 5pm, some of us decided to go hang out at the Central World Plaza shopping mall. We took a taxi there and did some early shopping. A good thing the APDSA Local Organizing Committee (LOC) reminded us that it was the rainy season, yet the umbrellas didn’t help much since it was pretty much pouring. At 2.30pm, we got on the shuttle van back to the hotel and on the way, met other dental students from Indonesia.

Later that evening around 5.30pm, was the opening ceremony of the 39th APDSA Congress. All the participants were divided into 30-plus groups and were seated at the respective tables in the grand ballroom. It felt awkward at first, surrounded by so many strangers but our group leaders were very friendly and hospitable, they made us feel at home. We also made friends with students from other universities and countries. After the opening ceremony, it was rehearsal time for the Cultural night and Closing ceremony. We attended the rehearsal slot along with the International Medical University (IMU) students for our Cultural night performance.
