39th APDSA CONGRESS ::DAY 2::

The morning began with an early sahur and breakfast. At 8.30am, we attended lecture at the convention hall until 10.00am. Half an hour later, we were asked to assemble at the hotel lobby according to our groups since we will be starting our sightseeing today. Our first stop was Wat Phra Kaew a.k.a. the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.  It is regarded as the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand. It is a "potent religio-political symbol and the palladium of Thai society". It is located in the historic centre of Bangkok (district Phra Nakhon), within the precincts of the Grand Palace. Hence its name, it came to no surprise when many were amazed at the size and architecture of the temple and the number of statues there.

Next, was the Rattanakosin tour whereby each group went to a different tourist attraction spot at Rattanakosin Island. Some groups got the opportunity to visit the Rattanakosin Exhibition while others went to the Museum of Siam. These museums were really interesting as they promote interactive learning through high dimension audio visual aid instead of the conventional things on display and read-it-yourself-information-placard.

At 5pm we were then taken to the River City Shopping Mall where we waited to board the ferry for our Chao Phraya River cruise. We boarded the ferry at 6pm and had our dinner while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Bangkok by the Chao Phraya River accompanied by music and entertained by dancing drag queens.

After that, it was back to the hotel for all of us. Despite being tired from the all-day-tour, we still had to practice for our cultural night performance to brush up on some of the dance steps. Later that night as well, some of us attended the Annual General Meeting of the APDSA.

To be continue.
